Correct answer: C. A red light during darkness or poor visibility, and a red flag or marker at other times

Section 111(1) requires a load overhanging the rear by 1.5 metres or more to display a red light at the extreme rear end during darkness or poor visibility (half an hour before sunset to half an hour after sunrise, or whenever light or weather conditions are insufficient), and a red flag or red marker at all other times, to indicate the projection to other drivers.
