You're hauling a load of firewood in an open trailer, not covered or tied down. Does the Highway Traffic Act have anything to say about this, beyond commercial trucking rules?

Correct answer: D. Yes — any load must be secured so no part of it can fall, spill, or blow off, regardless of vehicle type

Section 111(2) prohibits operating or permitting the operation of any motor vehicle carrying a load, or drawing a vehicle carrying a load, unless the load is loaded, bound, secured, contained, or covered so that no portion of it can become dislodged, fall, leak, spill, or blow off the vehicle — a general duty that applies to any driver, not just commercial haulers.
