What the Class G1 package includes
DriveTest Class G1 licence package is currently listed as $159.75. The published package includes a knowledge test, the Class G2 road test used to earn a G2 licence, and a five-year licence.
The fee is payable when you apply. It is a licensing fee paid to the official testing service, separate from any study resource or optional driver education.
If you need another attempt
DriveTest currently lists an extra knowledge-test attempt at $16.00. If you are unsuccessful, its knowledge-test guidance says you can pay the fee and try again.
Results are valid for one year. When you retry within that year, DriveTest says you need to rewrite only the sections that did not meet MTO standards.
Check the live fee page
Fees are set by the Government of Ontario and DriveTest labels its fee table with an effective date. Treat the official fee page as the final source before you visit.
Avoid websites that bundle official costs with their own services without making the difference clear. DriveTest states that booking a road test itself does not require an extra booking fee.
