Correct answer: A. No — all three must be produced immediately on request; the 24-hour grace period does not exist

No — that is a well-known myth, and the Handbook goes out of its way to kill it: "You must immediately, upon the police officer's request, surrender your driver's licence, vehicle permit (or copy) and insurance. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have 24 hours to present these documents." All three have to be in the car with you, every time you drive. The rest of the stop is equally prescribed: pull over as far to the right as you safely can, come to a complete stop, and stay in your vehicle waiting for the officer. Refusing an officer's direction to pull over risks a fine, a suspension, or jail.
