Correct answer: B. Get everyone out and away from the vehicle at once, then contact the authorities from a safe place

Get everybody out of the car and away from it immediately, move somewhere safe, and only then contact the authorities. The Handbook's wording leaves no room for negotiation: "If you get trapped on a crossing, immediately get everyone out and away from the vehicle. Move to a safe place and then contact authorities." People lose time trying to restart the engine or push the car clear, and a train needs far more than a kilometre to stop even if the driver sees you. The car is replaceable and can be dealt with afterwards. Note the order — out first, phone second — and move away from the tracks, not along them.
