Correct answer: C. The name and licence number of the tow operator or company, and where the car is being taken

The tow operator's details, and where the car is going: "If your vehicle must be towed, get the name and licence number of the tow truck operator and/or company. Make sure you understand where your vehicle is being towed." Both halves matter. Once your car leaves on someone else's truck, the name and licence number are what let you or your insurer trace it, and "make sure you understand where" is there because a vehicle that ends up at a yard you did not agree to can accumulate storage charges you did not expect. The Handbook's other post-collision instructions sit alongside this — contact your insurer as soon as possible if you intend to claim, and photograph the scene if it is safe to do so.
