Correct answer: C. Stay in the vehicle with the doors locked, call police, and drive to a police station or busy public place rather than home

Do not lead them to your door. The Handbook's instructions for a driver who feels threatened are short and specific: "stay in your vehicle and lock the doors", "if you have a cell phone, call police", and — the one people get wrong — "if you believe you are being followed, do not drive home. Drive to a police station or a busy public place." Driving home turns a road incident into something that knows where you live, and a quiet street gives an angry stranger privacy. The same section is equally clear that the situation is easier not to enter: "don't compete with another driver, or retaliate for what you believe to be inconsiderate behaviour."
