Correct answer: D. $85

$85. Schedule 43 lists "Drive wrong way — one way traffic" against Highway Traffic Act section 153 at $85.00, doubling inside a community safety zone. Section 153 itself is short: where a highway has been designated for one-way traffic and official signs erected accordingly, "vehicles and street cars shall be driven only in the direction so designated." The modest fine is a poor guide to the seriousness of the mistake — the same schedule lists a separate and identically priced offence for driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and either one puts you head-on into traffic that has no reason to expect you. The signs that prevent it are the ONE-WAY sign and, at the mouths of streets and ramps, DO NOT ENTER.
