Correct answer: D. Facing the direction you were travelling, on the right side, with its left side parallel to the road edge
Facing the way you were already travelling, on the right side of the highway, with the left side of the car parallel to the edge of the roadway. Regulation 604 s.2 requires a vehicle parked off the roadway of the King's Highway to be parked "on the right side of the highway having reference to the direction in which the vehicle has been travelling" and "so that the left side of the vehicle is parallel to the edge of the roadway." In other words, no crossing to the far side to park facing oncoming traffic, and no leaving the car at an angle with its nose or tail poking toward the lane. Both rules exist for the same reason: rejoining traffic from a car that is already pointing the right way and squared up to the edge is a single, predictable movement.
